Apple has been planning a gradual return to work since last month, as the company shut down its corporate operations temporarily due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Now, according to a new Bloomberg report, staff members are now gradually returning to their offices with the company taking measures to prevent the virus from spreading. Bloomberg says Apple is bringing some of the workers back to Apple Park in Cupertino, focusing mainly on hardware and software engineers who need to work on campus to finish priority projects....

Borderlands: The Pre Sequel, the latest installment in the popular Borderlands series, launches today for Mac on the same day as the console and PC release. The Mac version of the game is developed by Aspyr and includes cross-platform multiplayer and a promise of all future DLC: The game is available starting today for $59.99 through GameAgent (the web store run by developers of the Mac version, Aspyr) as well as through Steam....

Preston, Esquire (Alex Winter) and “Ted” Theodore Logan (Keanu Reeves) left an indelible mark on pop culture, spawning a sequel and a short lived cartoon show, as well as launching the careers of its stars. Apple launched TV+ with an ‘all-original slate’, as the company focused on paying top dollar for premium originals with star talent. Unlike most other streaming networks, it did not offer any back catalog. Apple TV+ currently features 30 originals titles with more added monthly. That strategy now appears to be changing as Bloomberg reports that Apple is buying rights to older Hollywood TV shows and movies. Bloomberg also says that Apple TV+ exceeded 10 million members as of February, although that figure naturally includes a lot of people on the one-year free trial rather than active paying subscribers....

Bloomberg has also provided some additional details about how the program works. Developers from Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, Starwood Hotels & Resorts, and more have been given a chance to take part in these workshops to perfect their software ahead of the official Apple Watch launch. Despite having already shown the device publicly and released development tools to software makers, Apple is keeping things pretty tight-lipped. The workshop is reportedly being held in a secret lab at Apple HQ, and participants are barred from bringing so much as “a pad of paper” into the room....

CarPlay has been a long time coming to BMW, but it now looks like the system is available as a $300 option across almost all models. We saw back in May that it was on the way to the X5 and X6 M, and a month later the same option appeared for the M3 and M4, suggesting that BMW might have been reserving it for higher-end models. As of today, though, ‘Apple CarPlay Compatibility’ appears as an entertainment option across most of the range …...

Security researcher Jan Soucek discovered a bug in the iOS Mail app that allowed an attacker to run remote HTML code when an email is opened. That code could easily imitate an iCloud login prompt, fooling users into giving away their Apple ID credentials … While Soucek uses iCloud as the demonstration – as it’s not uncommon for an iOS device to prompt people to login again – the same code could be used to imitate any website or service....
