Blac Chyna slammed Keeping Up With the Kardashians star Kylie Jenner for taking her daughter Dream Kardashian in the same helicopter that killed Kobe Bryant. Chyna and Kylie’s brother, Rob, are embroiled in a bitter custody battle over their three-year-old daughter.
According to the NTSB, the helicopter at the center of Kobe Bryant’s death was not equipped with a vital system that would have told its pilot that he was getting dangerously close to an obstruction. While other details of the crash that killed Bryant, his daughter, and seven others (including the pilot) are still coming in, this revelation that Kylie and Dream were in the same chopper is a striking coincidence. With all of the press coverage and grief surrounding Bryant’s death, Blac Chyna may be experiencing strong feelings of “what if.”
Chyna alleges that Jenner took her daughter for a ride in the aircraft without her permission. News that Kylie had traveled on the blue and white Sikorsky S-76 helicopter came via her moving tribute to the victims who died in that aircraft on January 26. She also had kind words about pilot Ara Zobayan. Although the quick chopper trip over the Hollywood sign was documented by Jenner back in November, the photos have resurfaced in light of the tragedy. However, this isn’t just an interesting bit of happenstance for everyone. Blac Chyna is reportedly distraught over the notion that her daughter was allowed to participate in the ride without her permission or prior knowledge. Through her attorney Lynne Ciani, she also expressed her condolences for the families.
As for her statement about Dream’s helicopter ride (via People), Ciani released a statement to American Media Inc.:
The custody battle between Blac Chyna and Keeping Up with the Kardashians’ Rob Kardashian means that every day, every experience is open to scrutiny by both sides of the argument. Now with the news that Dream was once in a helicopter that claimed the lives of nine unsuspecting passengers, Chyna may have the ammunition she needs to counter Rob’s many claims against her. It’s a shame that Kylie’s kind gesture of taking her niece up in the air is being used as fodder for this 21st-century take on Kramer vs. Kramer, but Rob and Blac Chyna don’t seem like they’ve been able to fully resolve their issues. Thankfully, nothing terrible happened to Kylie or Dream or any other passengers during that ride. Moving forward, the adults should get better at communicating with each other and setting appropriate boundaries so that everyone is aware of their child’s whereabouts, and so that everyone feels respected.
“Chyna has become aware that Kylie Jenner is using the tragic deaths of Kobe Bryant, his beautiful daughter, and seven other precious souls to profess her ‘distress’ that she and Dream had ridden on the same helicopter with the same pilot prior to Sunday’s horrific crash. What Kylie failed to disclose was that Chyna never gave Kylie permission to take her precious daughter Dream on a helicopter ride and that Chyna never would have given Kylie that permission… No parents should find out after-the-fact that their child has participated in a dangerous activity without their permission.”
